I actually decided, for whatever purpose, to write my own lyrics for the song. A local band I see often covers this song every set, and I asked the lead singer if he knew the lyrics or not. He said "You gotta know the trick... the lyrics are whatever you want them to be."
So I wrote what I want them to be, and I replayed the song and spoke the lyrics in tune with it... it's almost perfect, actually.

Actually no, no it isn't suppose to sound like that. The quality of the recording just wasn't that great, that's why they re-released and remastered the album. Although you are entitled to your opinion, and you may like the sound, the way you just butchered the English language makes your argument invalid.
