Limited Slip Differential. On a normal differential the power is sent to the wheel with less resistant (the one slipping) so you are going no where. In an LSD power is distributed and the wheel that spins doesn't get all the power, so you still have some grip.

just go to an open parking lot on a wet day.
its all practice and getting a feel for your car. go about 25-35 mph and kick the clutch, see what happens and how it reacts, and learn from it

My advice: After you found a big parking lot on a rainy day drive in a circle. Perhaps 15-20 Meter in diameter. Then accelerate more and more until the tail starts to slide. You will spin at the beginning very often but try to get the feeling when the tail starts to come out. Then countersteer and reintroduce the gas to keep the tail out. It takes some time to get the feeling but don`t give up. You will have BIG fun :-) Try it this way, this will keep your clutch in a healthy condition.

if i made it to drift a little with vw golf 2 1.3 with 55 hp and shity handbrake, that i think that anybody can do that.But this is all BIG FUN. and it is a FWD.

there is a way to drift with FWD. but it is much harder. i am only 18 years old and there is a long time to get something with RWD. when you drift with a FWD just dont do a counterster hard a hit a gas, with a little puled handbrake.

well. 19 years old. Hav no clue in any driftting coz there was no chance i could do tt. FWD seems to use diff drifting techniques compared to RWD. Well, not really sure if tt's the term to use when we describe a FWD car going sideways..

i am using a golf 2. WITH 55 HP. it is much harder if you have much weight on rear end beacuse if wont slip. But it is FUUUUNNN.

well with fwd's you can weight transfer on turns and it will start a drift but its pretty meesly. also if your e-brake doesnt lock up the back or you got abs its your best shot to practice on wet ground in vacant lot just trying to feint drift...im just trying to find a good lot to do it in. also use scraper tires like he said since theyr dirt cheap

hey flip46,
you only need to downshift when your rpm's are low and are in mid drift. if you lose rpm's in mid drift you use Heel-toe and downshift to boost your rpm's and increase your acceleration in the exit. i'm just a kid, but i have my cousin to thank for teaching me. x]
