Partially agree. I mean, I agree with Asa about that Hip-Hop ain't dead, but that there are different styles. Anyway, you're right about that it has been dumbed down, though. But there are still sick rappers out there. Nas is a living legend... Immortal Technique, Rakim, Canibus, KRS-One, Asheru, Tonedeff, Celph Titled, Apathy, the list goes on and on.

Yeah, I do like some of those guys (Rakim, KRS-1, & Nas are forever-lengend, Immortal technique has a good message) but 2 me it's the modern style I don't like. U know? Where they rhyme the last word of every line, similar?
Jay-Z's "99 Problems" 4 example:

(continued #2) this was kind of an old rhyme style when Special Ed used it(with the exception of a few of the internal rhymes). Even some of the underground rappers today are trying to sound too much like mainstream MCs. Even Kweli & Def rap in this style (& have since '98). We need a new Rakim-type to come along & shake things uup.

I have to agree with you on all counts. Many people seem to take similar things (not just hip hop) and mesh them together when they are best to be left as different styles. The world would be a boring place if there was only one right way to sing, rap, dance, write, etc.

- Break Dance (dance battles)
- Graffiti
